Pekat Group Berhad’s wholly owned subsidiary Pekat Solar Sdn Bhd, a leading provider of solar energy solutions in Malaysia, today announced the securing of three significant Letters of Award (LOAs) from MFP Solar Sdn. Bhd.for the design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. MFP Solar is a 55:45 joint venture jointly-owned between Mega First C&I Solar Sdn Bhd, a unit of Mega First Corporation Berhad and Pekat Teknologi Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Pekat to undertake solar projects in Malaysia.
With a combined capacity of 6.5 megawatt-peak, Pekat Solar successfully secured a total three rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) installation projects totalling around RM14.2 million. Targeted for completion within 6 – 9 months of appointment, these projects are expected to positively impact both the net assets and earnings of Pekat upon successful completion. This achievement solidifies the company’s unwavering commitment to setting new standards of excellence in the vibrant Malaysian solar energy landscape.
Pekat’s Chief Executive Officer, Tai Yee Chee (戴于智), emphasised the positive financial impact of these LOAs, underscoring the company’s robust growth. Constituting around 8% of the audited revenue for 2022, totalling RM179 million, these LOAs signify a substantial contribution to Pekat’s continued financial stability and prosperity.
In light of this achievement, Tai emphasised the company’s continuous dedication to delivering reliable and high-quality solar energy solutions to empower clients in reducing energy costs, minimising environmental impact, and embracing a sustainable future.
