Pekat Group Berhad has secured three subcontracts with a combined value of RM57.18 million for earthing and lightning protection works for a hyperscale data centre project in Johor Bahru.
The contracts were awarded to our indirect wholly-owned subsidiary, Pekat E & LP Sdn Bhd, by a Malaysia-incorporated client involved principally in engineering, construction services and investment holding. The identity of the client remains confidential in accordance with contractual obligations.
The three subcontracts cover a comprehensive range of specialised earthing and lightning protection works.
The first subcontract, valued at RM27.21 million, involves the supply, delivery, installation, testing and commissioning of earthing and lightning protection systems.
The second subcontract, valued at RM4.64 million, covers the supply and installation of earthing and lightning protection systems for a substation.
The third subcontract, valued at RM25.33 million, encompasses the design, supply, installation and testing of earthing and lightning protection systems. The scope includes earth mats, lightning protection systems, associated cabling, copper tapes, joints, terminations, fixings and accessories, as well as related civil works required for the installation.
The first subcontract is targeted for completion by September 2027, while the second and third subcontracts are targeted for completion by February 2027, subject to any extension of time or variations granted under the respective agreements.
These latest contract wins further strengthen Pekat Group’s position in the earthing and lightning protection segment while adding meaningfully to our existing project pipeline.
Pekat Group Chief Executive Officer Tai Yee Chee said the contracts also provide an opportunity for the Group to demonstrate its capabilities in delivering specialised protection systems for large-scale and technically demanding infrastructure.
